Nada Boustany directs the Bio-Optics Lab in the department of Biomedical Engineering at Rutgers. She was appointed Assistant Professor at Rutgers in 2003. Prior to joining Rutgers, she held a Research Associate Faculty position at Johns Hopkins University from 2001-2003 after first joining the Biomedical Engineering department at Johns Hopkins in 1998 as a Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow funded by the Whitaker Foundation. She holds S.B. and S.M. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Medical Physics/Medical Engineering (MEMP) from the Harvard-MIT division of Health Sciences and Technology. Her research interests are in optics, microscopy, and quantitative cellular imaging.
