Research Goals

I study 3q29 deletion syndrome and 3q29 duplication syndrome, rare genetic disorders associated with diverse phenotypes including developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, and schizophrenia. My ultimate goal is to develop a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying these syndromes, to improve therapeutic options for affected individuals and to gain insight into the influence of rare genetic variants on complex psychiatric disorders.
