What does it mean to be the first?

Is it a successful swing at a pinata

Releasing prisoned opportunities

Or is it merely a shooting star

Mesmerizing but fleeting

Incense in the northeast corner and the

Rumbling of Sanskrit,

Clouds of idli and the kick of sambar

Are merely quotidian Saturday traffic

Interrupted by the smashing of the rainbow unicorn
