By Alexis Zimmerlink

A home above the clouds

With the world at his feet

Grass blade crowds

Keep him off the street

But it’s his head held high notes

That keep him in tune

And prevent his wide hazel boats

From sinking on a full moon

Yet these boats sometimes wander

And get lost out on the sea

When they travel yonder

To someplace he’d rather be

It’s where high notes are low

And the grass is all flooded

But the sunflowers grow

And the sea stars are studded

The ocean here covets her

Waves serve as her security

The horizon is just a blur

She’s lost in a fog of insecurity

No one understands why

He wastes his precious life

But each day he will try

To rescue her from strife

So he sails through it all

For a meeting long awaited

But sometimes she’ll fall

From the ripples he’s created

And when they finally meet

He finds it was worth the while

There is no reason to fleet

The venture worth her smile
