About Us
Alianza, the Latino Law Students Association of Rutgers School of Law, Camden, aims to create unity among law students, establish academic excellence, ensure co-operation, provide for the common achievement, promote the general concern, and secure legal knowledge for ourselves and our community.
Our Mission Statement
ALIANZA was founded by the Honorable Carmen M. Garcia in 1982 to create a support system for Latinx law students that would promote academic excellence, develop strong networks, and secure legal knowledge for Latin American law students and the greater Latinx community. Since 1982, ALIANZA has served to encourage Latinx attorneys and other diverse candidates, to continue articulating, promoting, and defending the educational, professional, and social needs and goals of Latin American law students, as well as other diverse law students, at Rutgers Law – Camden. As members of ALIANZA, we continue to promote the principles and values that our organization was founded on and are proud to be able to present the Bright Futures Scholarship Award to two promising high school seniors in the Camden area. Our Defensores de la Justicia Banquet is the opportunity for us to give recognition and thanks to some of the prominent Latinx attorneys in the field that are making a difference for those in our community.
