Over twenty years after 9/11, the global war on terror wages on stronger than ever. Alongside, the literary response to the invasions of Afghanistan, Iraq, and other nations across the world has remained resistant to and critical of imperial states. This talk examines the grammars of the global war on terror in Jamil Jan Kochai’s 2022 short story collection The Haunting of Hajji Hotak.
