I joined this project because I’m passionate about creating inclusive and equitable learning environments.
I’ve gained valuable insights working closely with a group of first-generation undergraduate students at Rutgers New Brunswick to co-create a faculty resource. The resource offers practical strategies to create inclusive learning environments that support first-generation undergraduate students.
I believe an inclusive classroom is one that centers the human experience. Building a classroom community grounded in respect is essential for meaningful learning. Importantly, an inclusive classroom supports students in their learning journey, especially at critical and challenging moments. I hope this resource will inspire instructors to create welcoming and authentic classroom environments.
