Does the start of the semester have you overwhelmed and frazzled? We have a quick, guilt-free escape lined up for you! Leave behind your textbooks for an hour and join us at the virtual Chang Science Library to explore some fun activities you can enjoy from the comfort of your room. \"invitation\"<\/a>This kickoff of a semester-long program called Tales We Read<\/a> will continue our best traditions at Chang \u2013 in a flash. Instead of our previous reading marathons, the online version will start with a Harry Potter \u201csprint\u201d reading featuring the third book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,<\/em> followed by another lightning bolt for all of us struggling with short attention span in these difficult times: flash fiction.<\/p>\n

If you are new to the genre, we guarantee the first-hand experience of a gut punch from great flash fiction in the footsteps of Hemingway: \u201cFor sale: baby shoes, never worn.\u201d Already a flash-fiction fan? Bring your best six-word stories to share! Register<\/a> today!<\/p>\n

Enroll in Tales We Read<\/a> any time (NetID required). Stay as long as you want, participate in the discussions as much as you like, or just enjoy reading a new story every other week or so.<\/p>\n

Wherever you are physically, we invite you to escape and gather online throughout the Fall semester to take short mental breaks from homework through a fool-proof method of distraction: reading short stories and discussing related issues with fellow students.<\/p>\n
