\"\"<\/a>If you\u00a0have never visited Rutgers – New Brunswick, we have some sketches for you to fill in the blanks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The galleries of Sketching New Brunswick presented\u00a0New Brunswick in Sketches: The Town<\/a>\u00a0with images featuring examples of\u00a0Urban Sketching<\/a>, a way to create\u00a0shared experiences by documenting, collecting, and sharing drawings from our campus and daily life as we know it.<\/p>\n

The project was very popular as a distracting, artistic activity during the pandemic, when everyone was locked up and was feeling antsy.\u00a0Without any background in art,\u00a0students, faculty, and staff of the Rutgers University New Brunswick\u2019s community were happily sketching throughout the month of November and the first week in December in 2020 and 2021 upon weekly prompts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Read more about the experience in\u00a0Urban Sketching<\/a>, including some sketches. The conclusion was that\u00a0urban sketching also relieves stress, hones observational and analytical skills, and forces us to take a moment to stop and \u201cdraw the roses.\u201d<\/p>\n
