Laurie Nsiah-Jefferson, Ph.D., MPH. MA. is an expert on the intersection of race, class and gender in health, health care and social policy. She is extremely well versed in the tools and applications of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism in multiple spheres and venues. As the Director for the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy, and the Graduate Program Director for the Gender, Leadership, and Public Policy graduate program she is committed to equity and inclusion in her work as a faculty member, executive leader, and researcher. In the last 30 years Nsiah-Jefferson served as faculty, visiting scholar, and administrative leader on social policy related to race, ethnicity, and gender at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Harvard University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Suffolk University. She has also served as a Policy Analyst for the Civil Rights Project at Harvard Law School, the Director of Health Disparities at Dana Farber Cancer Center, and a research scientist at Columbia University School of Public Health. She has also consulted and presented nationally on these topics. Dr. Nsiah-Jefferson has received the W.K. Kellogg Fellowship in Health Policy Research, the H. Jack Geiger Congressional Health Fellowship, and a fellowship with National Center for Health Behavioral Change. Among her awards are the Harry S. Levitan Prize for Excellence and Leadership in Education, and the Heller School for Social Policy and Management Mentoring award. She is also an International Affiliate for the Intersectionality Institute for Research and Policy at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia.
