Valencia Richardson

Valencia received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. During law school, Valencia served as Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Journal of Law and Modern Critical Race Perspectives, and the President of Georgetown Law Students for Democratic Reform. Valencia also worked as a student attorney in the Georgetown Law Civil Rights Clinic, and interned for the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and the Campaign Legal Center. She is the author of a nonfiction book, “Young and Disaffected” and published two student notes: “Voting While Poor: Reviving the Twenty-Fourth Amendment and Eliminating the Modern-Day Poll Tax” in the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy, and “Data Driven Discrimination: A Case for Equal Protection in the Racially Disparate Impact of Big Data” in the Georgetown Journal of Law and Modern Critical Race Perspectives.

Before law school, Valencia was a Fulbright grantee to Mexico and a student voting rights organizer for the Andrew Goodman Foundation, for which she currently serves as a board member. Valencia graduated magna cum laude in Mass Communications from Louisiana State University and is a proud native of Shreveport, Louisiana.
