As Associate Director for Administration and Planning since 2001, Linda L. Tanzer works closely with the Center Director and Deputy Director to oversee research-related operations and facilitate research interactions. Tanzer received her BA in English and Mathematics from Rutgers University in 1987 and has over 30 years of experience as an academic administrator. Before her recruitment to CINJ in 1993, she was Director of Administration for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) – Center for Continuing Education where she oversaw required accreditations (e.g., AMA) and helped build innovative programs such as the NJ AIDS Education and Training Center. During her tenure at CINJ she has held positions of increasing responsibility. In addition to her Associate Director responsibilities, Tanzer administratively oversees finance, faculty recruitment and affairs, legal services and contracting, human resources/workforce planning and development, facilities and capital planning, laboratory support services, and grants management in her role of Chief Financial and Administrative Officer.
