The NJ Enhancing School Mental Health Services Project: Technical Assistance and Leadership Academy is a three-year project, designed to build internal capacity and expertise within your school or district to support the implementation and sustainability of comprehensive school mental health. As part of this project, selected schools will identify School Mental Health Leads and a Comprehensive School Mental Health (CSMH) Team to champion this initiative. A Rutgers-CCSMH consultant will partner with the School Mental Health Lead and CSMH Team for three years to provide training and coaching support in the following areas:

  • School Assessment and Action Planning
  • Mental Health Promotion
  • Early Intervention Services
  • Alignment of Student Services Using a Data-Driven Process
  • Risk Assessment
  • Suicide Prevention/Intervention

Additionally, the Rutgers-CCSMH consultant will meet with SMH Leads and CSMH Team on a regular basis to support the implementation of student mental health supports. This partnership requires a commitment from school and district leadership to ensure successful implementation.
