Solid-state NMR (ssNMR) is a powerful and flexible technique that is well-equipped to study the structure and dynamics of a variety of systems, including lipid bilayers, at atomic resolution. A specific family of lipids, phosphatidylinositol phosphates (PIPs), are of particular interest due to their role in cell-signaling pathways and their binding specificity.
