{"id":620,"date":"2026-05-19T19:04:34","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T19:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/christopher-shuck\/?p=620"},"modified":"2026-05-19T19:04:34","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T19:04:34","slug":"shuck-lab-wins-fulcrum-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/christopher-shuck\/shuck-lab-wins-fulcrum-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Shuck Lab Wins Fulcrum Award!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m grateful to have received the <a href=\"https:\/\/academicaffairs.rutgers.edu\/AY%202026%E2%80%932027%20Rutgers%20Research%20Council%20Awards%20Recipients\">Individual Fulcrum Award from the Rutgers Research Council<\/a> for my project, <strong data-start=\"1222\" data-end=\"1344\">\u201c<\/strong>Designing Predictive Descriptors for MXene Electrochemistry through Work Function and Electronic State Correlations.<strong data-start=\"1222\" data-end=\"1344\">\u201d<\/strong> MXenes offer an enormous chemical design space, but the field still lacks clear, quantitative relationships between composition, electronic structure, surface chemistry, and electrochemical behavior. This project will begin building that fundamental understanding by correlating work function and electronic states with redox activity, ion transport, voltage stability, and long-term electrochemical response in aqueous systems.
