Advancing Clinical and Translational Research for Better Healthcare Outcomes

The Clinical Research Center (CRC) at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School has been at the forefront of clinical research for over 35 years, providing specialized study coordination, administrative research support, and a state-of-the-art environment for groundbreaking research. The CRC is dedicated to supporting and stimulating clinical and translational research across Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, with the goal of bringing new therapies, tests, and treatments to the community more rapidly.

Our Mission

  • Support and facilitate clinical and translational research across Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
  • Provide a conduit for the rapid introduction of innovative therapies and treatments to the community.
  • Offer a comprehensive training environment for medical, nursing, and pharmacy students, as well as residents and fellows.

Clinical Research Resources
The CRC offers a fully-equipped environment for clinical and translational research, providing:

  • A collaborative space where investigators can conduct both investigator-initiated and externally sponsored clinical trials.
  • Expanded patient access to Phase I-IV clinical trials involving the latest treatments.
  • A training environment that enriches the educational experience for students, residents, and fellows.

As a central hub for clinical research, the CRC works closely with faculty and collaborating units to support all aspects of clinical trials, both inpatient and outpatient.

Our Facility
Located on the eighth floor of the East Tower at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, the CRC spans over 11,000 square feet and features:

  • Four examination rooms
  • Four long-stay rooms
  • Two infusion rooms
  • A phlebotomy station with specimen processing and storage laboratory facilities including -20 and -80 freezers.
  • A fully equipped pulmonary function lab
  • Ample office space for clinical trial monitoring visits and staff offices
  • A conference room
  • An Investigational Drug Pharmacy with drug storage capabilities
  • A dedicated team of trained research nurses, coordinators, assistants, and lab personnel
