There are several fundamental challenges in\u00a0 the area of strongly correlated electron systems which is an important part of\u00a0 condensed matter theory: a) \u00a0 finding new phases\u00a0 and regimes\u00a0 of matter and characterizing their properties\u00a0 and b) predicting the properties of materials starting from first principles. Dynamical mean field theory and its extensions enabled us to tackle both challenges.\u00a0 I will remind you of\u00a0 where we left off last year,\u00a0 namely the theory of Hund metals,\u00a0 and we will rapidly move to a new subject, \u00a0 a different path to strongly correlated behavior,\u00a0 the\u00a0 heavy fermion road, and the interesting\u00a0 physics and material science that we discovered.\u00a0 We will conclude with many open questions which may be ripe for solution.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
