{"id":497,"date":"2025-02-12T14:21:07","date_gmt":"2025-02-12T14:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/community-grant-writing-online-course\/?page_id=497"},"modified":"2026-08-06T18:02:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T18:02:58","slug":"about-the-project","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/community-grant-writing-resources\/about-the-project\/","title":{"rendered":"About the Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">This project was funded by the Rutgers Equity Alliance for Community Health (REACH) to Professor Cara Cuite and developed by a collaborative team of Rutgers faculty, private grant consultants, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.njfooddemocracy.org\/\">New Jersey Food Democracy Collaborative<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The aim of the project was to strengthen the capacity of nonprofit organizations to secure funding and sustain their programs. The project provides nonprofit leaders and staff with practical tools, training, and resources to identify funding opportunities, develop competitive grant proposals, and successfully manage grant funding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">To ensure these resources addressed real-world needs, multiple focus groups were conducted with representatives from community organizations serving Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick. Insights from these discussions directly informed the contents included in this website and the online course.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In addition to creating these educational resources, the project provided individualized grant consultations to 18 nonprofit organizations, helping them strengthen their grant strategies and secure funding for their work.
