Enterprise Data Warehouse
There are significant benefits of storing university units and enterprise data in the Enterprise Data Warehouse, including having one official source of truth for where data is accessed, reported on consistently, integrated with other stored data, and used with enterprise analytics tools. OIT-EAS provides a highly secure, robust, scalable system to store data that follows security protocols for ensuring data is only shared with those approved.
Data Types:
Live Data – This data is stored from a direct feed from data source. Live data means a copy of the data that is typically refreshed overnight, rarely does it mean real-time transactional data.
Frozen Data – This data is intended for official reporting because it freezes a copy of your live data in time.
Snapshot Data – This data is captured on a regular schedule or on a specified schedule my our requester. It can be used to make longitudinal comparisons over time.
