The FAQ responses are from our July 2021 and March 2022 technical assistance sessions.

The stipends will serve as an incentive for the participants and recognize their contributions to the program.

The stipends are per individual participant, to be used at their discretion. There are no restrictions on how they spend the money. However, funds should not be used as a group investment back into their current CAP efforts. They are, however, allowed to be grouped and used to support or invest in a separate community initiative or project as selected by the members (only IF the members choose to do so).

While the tentative stipend amounts are not expected to exceed tax thresholds, the vendor is responsible for following all federal and state tax rules.

Yes, we anticipate that each group will present their CAP effort at each regional submit as an opportunity to share the lessons learned from different regions.

Currently, that is the plan, however, CWW and DCF DOW are in talks to combine the regional summits into one statewide summit.

Requests for support will be considered based on agency policy and on a case by case basis.

There should be no reason to not partner with an organization that services undocumented youth. We will work with the agencies to problem solve on any issues that arise.

That is one of the long term goals of the initiative, although we understand it may not be 100% feasible in all cases. It is expected that the core of the group will remain the same to the extent that it is possible.

The age range for the ExCEL committees is 10-21 years old. The program targets youth until age 21.

The intention of this funding is to provide an opportunity for community-based girls serving agencies/organizations located in NJ and serve girls in NJ.
