Michael Jong, MD

Simulation Faculty

Michael Jong emigrated from Brazil when he was five years old and spent his formative years in Florida before moving to the northeast to begin his journey in emergency medicine. That journey started at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he completed a four-year emergency medicine residency program and developed his interest in simulation and medical education. There he worked with senior faculty to create a simulation research project on multisource feedback on resident performance in simulation, and this served as the topic for his thesis for his master’s degree in clinical education. He then worked in a simulation capacity at both the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he has worked as a simulation faculty and assistant professor for more than four years. When he is not working as an educator in medicine, he likes to spend time with his wife and three-year-old son and play all manners of games, video, board, or otherwise.
