She is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University (Newark), in the Department of Psychiatry, New Jersey Medical School. She is also a core member of the Krieger Klein Alzheimer&#8217;s Research Center at the Brain Health Institute, Rutgers University. <\/span><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left\"><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Dr. Simon earned her Ph.D. from the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (Brazil), a Research Fellowship in Neuropsychiatry at Harvard University (Brigham and Women&#8217;s Hospital), and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Columbia University. <\/span><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left\"><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left\"><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Dr. Simon is passionate about empowering communities through science, understanding risk and resilience\/protective factors for cognitive aging and dementia. Also, she dedicates her time to developing effective interventions (e.g., cognitive training and exercise) to improve mental &amp; brain health in older adults, including vulnerable and underrepresented populations.<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Furthermore, Dr. Sanz Simon is interested in better understanding the role of reproductive life history and menopause on cognition and brain health, contributing to Advancing women&#8217;s health care in aging.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left\"><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Currently, she is a member of the US Consortium of Aging, Dementia &amp; Latino Studies.
