\"\"The Cardiorespiratory Physiology Laboratory (CPL) is located at the Department of Veterans Affairs <\/span>Airborne Hazards and Burn Pits Center of Excellence<\/a> (AHBPCE) locat<\/span>ed at the VA New Jersey Health Care System (East Orange, NJ). The AHBPCE conducts clinical and translational research, provides <\/span>advanced clinical cardiopulmonary services, creates and disseminates high quality educational material, and monitors the enterprise clinical response of a national exposure registry.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Our research <\/span>laboratory’s<\/a> goal, as part of the AHBPCE, is to study mechanisms of dyspnea, exercise intolerance,\u00a0and fatigue in the contexts of environmental and occupational exposure.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We also occasionally study non-Veterans or civilians at our laboratory at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Here, we focus on developing improved methods for assessing pulmonary function across multiple modalities.<\/p>\n
