Rutgers Water Recycling Investment Tool
Water availability, quality, and management, particularly under climate change constraints and fierce competition for water resources, are challenging the sustainability of intensively irrigated nursery crops. We created this online tool to estimate costs and benefits of a water recycling investment at your commercial nursery, using information that you enter about your nursery operation. This tool then gives you a “regulatory risk score” based on your drought and pollution risk. Then, using a partial budget approach, the program gives you the net present value of the investment, your upfront capital cost, and your expected change in annual cash flow.
