Anton has successfully defended his dissertation! Congratulations for an absolutely incredible thesis and defense!<\/h4>\n

Anton was a Ph.D. student in the Neurosciences Graduate Program. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from City University of New York, Hunter College. As an undergraduate student, he worked in the Serrano Lab, where he studied on effects of enriched environment on molecular facets underlying learning and memory. Anton was awarded a position on the Rutgers NIH Biotechnology Training grant and subsequently was awarded a New Jersey Commission on Brain Injury Research Predoctoral Fellowship and a Spinal Cord Injury Techniques Training Travel Grant to perform his thesis work. He studied the roles of NCX isoforms in recovery after traumatic brain injury.<\/p>\n

Dr. Bonnie Firestein Awarded Grant in Rutgers Global Grant Competition<\/h4>\n

Professor\u00a0Bonnie Firestein\u00a0was awarded a 2-year $8,000 grant as part of the Rutgers Global Grant Competition.<\/p>\n

The award titled, \u201cThe role of \u03b1Klotho forms in neuroprotection and recovery following traumatic brain injury\u201d is a joint project with Professor Cristoforo Scavone at the Universty of Sao Paulo, Brazil.<\/p>\n
