Dr. Serey Sok is a Deputy Head of the Research Office at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and a Vice Director of the Center for Culture and Peace Studies (CCPS) at the Asian Vision Institute. He was a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Academy of Korea Studies and the University of Washington and a Visiting Scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the University Technology Malaysia (UTM), and the Central European University (CEU) in Hungary. Dr Sok holds a doctoral degree in Human Geography from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2013 and an MSc in Regional and Rural Development from the Asian Institute of Technology. He also serves as an Editor in Chief at the Cambodia Journal of Basic and Applied Research of RUPP, an Associate Editor at Cambodia Education Review, and on the international editorial board of the Cambodian Journal of Natural History (RUPP) and Pacific Geographies (University of Hamburg, Germany). Since 1999, he has worked with various NGOs and UN agencies in Cambodia and Thailand. Dr Sok is an active academic researcher. He has published numerous papers in international peer-reviewed journals, namely, Nature Communications Medicine, The International Journal of Water Resources Development, Sustainability, Regional Sustainability, The Singapore Journal of Tropical Geography, Forum for Development Studies, Journal of Asian Public Policy, The Journal of Development and Migration, World Development Prospective, and more.
