C\u2019est le cas du Qu\u00e9bec, et c\u2019est la raison pour laquelle on trouve beaucoup de r\u00e9f\u00e9rences \u00e0 la langue dans les chansons qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise. Le conflit concernant la langue officielle du Qu\u00e9bec (le fran\u00e7ais) a, en effet, inspir\u00e9 de nombreux chanteurs et chanteuses qu\u00e9b\u00e9coises -parmi lesquels Raymond L\u00e9vesque, Robert Charlebois, Gilles Vigneault, Pauline Julien\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Un cri pour l&#8217;\u00e9galit\u00e9!<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Une des premi\u00e8res chansons \u00e0 \u00e9voquer la question de la domination de l\u2019anglais au Qu\u00e9bec est<\/span> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bozo les Culottes<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> de Raymond L\u00e9vesque. Cette chanson parle d\u2019un homme tr\u00e8s simple, qui sait \u00e0 peine compter, mais qui a compris qu&#8217;on l\u2019exploitait dans son pays (le Qu\u00e9bec) et que\u00a0 <em>l<\/em><em>es Anglais (les Canadiens anglophones) avaient les bonnes places\/Et qu\u2019ils lui riaient en pleine face<\/em>.\u201d Et, <em>M\u00eame s&#8217;il \u00e9tait un peu dingue\/ Y avait compris qu&#8217;faut \u00eatre bilingue<\/em> !\u00a0 &#8211; c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire si on est francophone. On est en 1967, \u00e0 une \u00e9poque o\u00f9 le droit \u00e0 la diversit\u00e9 n\u2019\u00e9tait pas encore acquis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>La tension grandit<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">En 1980, les francophones du Qu\u00e9bec continuent \u00e0 se battre pour \u00eatre reconnus. Un r\u00e9f\u00e9rendum pour l&#8217;ind\u00e9pendance du Qu\u00e9bec est propos\u00e9, mais il est rejet\u00e9. La ferveur de la population qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise s&#8217;exprime alors de plus en plus, et souvent par l&#8217;interm\u00e9diaire de la musique. Il y a la chanson de Robert Charlebois qui s\u2019appelle <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Frog Song<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. C\u2019est une chanson sur la question de la langue au Qu\u00e9bec, mais le titre et le refrain sont en anglais! Le mot \u201cfrog\u201d est un terme utilis\u00e9 pour d\u00e9signer les francophones du Qu\u00e9bec, donc, peut-\u00eatre ces deux lignes imitent les Canadiens anglais privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s qui utilisent ce terme pour d\u00e9crire les francophones. Le reste de la chanson est en fran\u00e7ais et parle du mode de vie d\u2019un canadien anglophone. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">L\u2019ironie c\u2019est, bien s\u00fbr, la r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la tradition du crapaud (frog) qui se transforme en prince charmant! <em>You&#8217;re a frog, I\u2019m a frog, kiss me\/ And I\u2019ll turn into a prince suddenly! <\/em>\u00a0Charlebois tourne ainsi l\u2019expression n\u00e9gative \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois \u00e0 leur avantage en sugg\u00e9rant que sous le crapaud (le Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois) se cache un prince!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The frog song - Robert Charlebois VID\u00c9OCLIP\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/197q4P2ud3U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Il y a d\u2019autres chansons qui m\u00e9langent les deux langues pendant cette p\u00e9riode de tension. Un autre exemple inclut la chanson de Pauline Julien qui s\u2019appelle <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mommy<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Voici des lignes de cette chanson qui utilisent un style similaire \u00e0 la chanson de Charlebois: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>Please sing the song you sang when I was a baby\/Fais dodo, Colas mon p&#8217;tit fr\u00e8re\/Fais dodo, mon p&#8217;tit fr\u00e8re, fais dodo, tu auras du lolo\/Mommy, mommy, I remember the song\/Oh mommy, mommy, something seems to be wrong<\/em>.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Les deux chansons nous racontent l\u2019histoire d\u2019une domination de l\u2019anglais sur le fran\u00e7ais. La voix jeune de P. Julien ajoute beaucoup d&#8217;\u00e9motion. Elle raconte l\u2019incompr\u00e9hension des petits francophones qui doivent faire place \u00e0 l\u2019anglais (et laisser tomber leur langue maternelle &#8211;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mommy, mommy<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). C\u2019est la voix d\u2019un enfant qui chante la tristesse de la province. Un nouveau r\u00e9f\u00e9rendum pour l&#8217;ind\u00e9pendance a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9pos\u00e9 par les Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois. En 1975, Gilles Vigneault avait \u00e9crit la chanson <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gens du pays <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">qui deviendra l&#8217;hymne des s\u00e9paratistes apr\u00e8s le r\u00e9f\u00e9rendum.
