Rutgers Global Neurosurgery is committed to advancing equitable access to neurosurgical care worldwide through research, education, and collaborative partnerships. Grounded in a vision of global health equity, our team works alongside institutions, governments, and health professionals to strengthen neurosurgical systems, build capacity, and improve outcomes for patients in low-resource settings.
Our efforts span continents and disciplines, focusing on impactful initiatives that address the surgical burden of disease, train the next generation of neurosurgical leaders, and contribute to evidence-based policy change in global surgery.

The Rutgers Global Neurosurgery program is led by Dr. Anil Nanda, a neurosurgeon deeply committed to global neurosurgery. As the Director of Global Neurosurgery at Rutgers, Dr. Nanda brings decades of clinical expertise, research leadership, and a deep commitment to health equity. Under his direction, the program continues to grow as a hub for innovation, service, and academic excellence in global neurosurgery. He has authored five neurosurgical textbooks spanning topics from surgical complications to health policy and education, reflecting his dedication to advancing the field through scholarship.
