Tomiwa Oyedokun

Tomiwa Oyedokun is a second-year Ph.D. in the Nutritional Sciences Graduate Program at Rutgers University. He earned a First Class Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in Nigeria, and a Master’s Degree in Food Technology and Human Nutrition from the University of Agriculture in Krakow, Poland. He has previously worked as a nutritionist, providing nutritional counsel to people with diet-related diseases. Currently, Tomiwa is researching how cannabidiol alters the liver lipid profile of post-menopausal women in Dr. Roopchand’s Lab. Additionally, he teaches Systems Physiology Laboratory at the Biological Sciences Department at Rutgers University. Following his doctoral program, Tomiwa would like to pursue a career in industry to explore how phytochemicals can be used to reduce the risk of cardiometabolic diseases faced by women in menopause. Tomiwa enjoys cooking, watching movies, and playing soccer.
