Payton Harmon

Payton Harmon is a fifth year Ph.D. candidate in the Nutritional Sciences Graduate Program. She graduated from Rutgers University in 2019 with a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences. As a member of the lab of Dr. Paul Breslin, she studies acute gastroenteritis in pediatric patients. She is the research coordinator of a small pediatric clinical trial that aims to reduce the severity and duration of acute gastroenteritis by fortifying oral rehydration therapy with amino acids. Her research project combines clinical research with gastrointestinal nutrient sensing and metabolism. Outside of the lab, Payton crochets, attempts to keep plants alive, and spoils her cat.
