Poster Session

The 2026 GRIB conference will hold an in-person poster session for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows to present their work. Posters will be presented in person at the GRIB Conference poster session on May 6th 2026, between
8:30am-4:30pm. Poster presenters are highly encouraged to set up their posters between 7:30am and 8:00am, and they should plan to be available from either (A) 11am-12pm OR (B) 1:30pm-2:30pm for presentation of their posters during one of the two poster sessions.
*These timelines are subject to change as the conference schedule develops. Any changes made will be communicated ASAP.

Poster competition (undergrad and grad students only): Participants who registered for the poster competition will be judged by faculty and graduate student judges during the poster session. A high-scoring poster will include the following components:

● Title
● Names of authors and affiliated organizations
● Background and objectives/aims/hypotheses
● Methods
● Results with graphical representation of your findings (tables, graphs, charts, etc.)
● Conclusions/discussion of future directions

Please note there is no abstract requirement for the poster competition; however, there will be no penalization if the submitted abstract is included. Poster competition scoring will be based on the poster itself, as well as the presentation of the research by the poster presenter. A rubric will be sent out in the confirmation email upon submission of an abstract.

Poster competition 2026 FAQ

How do I know if my poster has been accepted?
All posters are accepted upon submission. GRIB is a graduate-student run conference and aims to provide the feel of an off-campus conference, while fostering a low-stress and inclusive environment. As such, we encourage all to participate in the poster session, and competition.

How do I enter the poster competition?
To enter the competition, please first send in your abstract via email (anb256@scarletmail.rutgers.edu). You will then receive a confirmation email with more details including how to obtain poster supplies (provided by sponsors) and conference registration.

If I don’t want to be entered into the poster competition, can I still present my poster at the GRIB conference?
Yes, please indicate that you’re interested in presenting a poster when you register for the conference by indicating no upon abstract submission via email.

I am a postdoctoral fellow, can I still submit my poster to GRIB?
Yes, you can present your poster at the conference, but we do not currently have a competition for postdoctoral fellows. Our current poster competition is only for graduate students and undergraduate students.

I’m not in the Food Science, Nutritional Sciences, Endocrinology and Animal Biosciences, Plant Biology departments. Can I still bring a poster to GRIB?
Of course! Anything research related to biosciences in some way is encouraged to be presented.

Who will be judging the posters for the poster competition?
We will have student and faculty judges from Food Science, Nutritional Sciences, Endocrinology and Animal Biosciences, Plant Biology Departments who will be judging the posters.

How can I print my poster?
Poster presenters are responsible for printing their own posters.

What size should my poster be?
Posters should be 36in x 44in to fit on our poster boards.
