GSAC Post Meeting Summary

1. Website & Meetings

• The new GSAC website is live: sites.rutgers.edu/gsac.
• The GSAC events calendar will include meeting dates and links so students can easily join open meetings. Students can also subscribe to the calendar for meeting and event updates.
• Discussed establishing a more consistent meeting schedule to make it easier for students to participate.
• Discussed adding Lunch & Learn events to the GSAC events calendar. This will be explored further at a later date.
• GSAC will work on ways to increase awareness of meetings and encourage greater student participation.

2. 2026–27 Events Framework – Approved Unanimously

• Approved a plan for a similar number of events as last year, with several new programming ideas.
• Programming ideas include off-campus social hours, Coffee Connections with activities and informal faculty conversations, volunteer/service opportunities, career-focused programming such as professional photos and CV support, academic and professional development panels, and GSAC signature events such as Friendsgiving and the End-of-Year Celebration.
• GSAC will continue exploring potential partnerships within Rutgers and the local community to support programming.

3. 2026–27 Events Budget – Approved Unanimously

• Approved the proposed 2026–27 events budget based on the previously approved programming framework, prior-year spending, and anticipated programming needs.
• Conference and other professional development funding remains a top priority. Thoughtful budget consideration will also be given to community-building activities and GSAC signature events.
• Additional events and expenses will be considered based on available funding throughout the year.
• GSAC’s final 2026–27 budget allocation is still being confirmed with GSE. Until the final allocation is known, sponsorship of non-GSAC events cannot be considered.
