On Thursday, April 4th, our lab traveled to NYU Langone Health to participate in the 10th Annual New York City Epidemiology Forum. During this conference, we got to experience numerous knowledgeable speakers on the topic of epidemiology. Dr. Jay Kaufman elaborated on the issues within quantitive research but reminded us to not sweat the small stuff. Dr. Chinazo Cunningham expanded on the addiction crisis within New York City and how the implementation of addiction treatments will ultimately help the health of NYC. During our time at the conference, we had our lab member, Mingchao He, present his poster on unveiling access barriers to PSA testing. During these poster sessions, we were able to get an idea of what people were focusing on and how we could ultimately work together to create more research opportunities. We also had Dr. Hari Iyer speak on the career panel about how he got his footing within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and what others should be looking for when finding a career that is right for them. This conference allowed our whole lab to expand our network and get a better grasp on what other teams are focusing on. We were thrilled to be a part of such a lovely event!
