      Syllabus
      This course uses economics to analyze public policies for environmental protection. We will discuss the role of environmental policy in a market economy, tools for evaluating public policies, and conventional and incentive-based approaches to environmental policy. Along the way, we will apply the analysis to specific areas of environmental policy and end the class with an extended application to public policy for climate change.

 

    • Applied Econometrics for Microeconomics (16:220:609)
      Syllabus
      This course aims to help students become researchers in empirical microeconomics. It covers modern econometrics methods for cross-sectional and panel data. Topics include difference-in-difference, regression discontinuity, matching methods, and instrumental variable approaches and models for discrete choice, sample selection, and count data. The course emphasizes applications of these methods in practical research contexts and considers examples of research employing these methods from a variety of fields within microeconomics.
