S. in Horticulture. After working for a year in the horticulture industry, I attended Arizona State University where I earned a M. S. degree in Plant Biology. My thesis project looked at the effects of elevated CO<sub>2<\/sub> on the flavonoid chemistry of a medicinal herb, <i>Scutellaria baicalensis<\/i>. In 2002, I started my doctoral thesis work at the University of Illinois where I investigated the anticancer components of blueberry fruit.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>After completing my PhD, I joined Ilya Raskin&#8217;s lab in March 2005 as a postdoctoral associate.
