DESCRIPTION:Sign up for the Lecture\, “Surviving the Black Death: The Digital Reconstruction of a Medieval Merchant’s Diary\,” presented by Dr. Isabella Magni on Wednesday\, October 28\, 2-3PM CST. This talk is co-sponsored by the Svaglic Chair of Textual Studies. \nIsabella Magni is Postdoctoral Associate in Italian and Digital Humanities at Rutgers University. She is currently working on a digital edition of Pepo degli Albizi’s memorial book\, which provides a glimpse into the life of a medieval merchant during the time of a pandemic. This talk will present the initial stages of building the digital edition and will discuss issues of digital philology and digital editing\, conceptualizing a digital-born edition and managing a truly interdisciplinary project.
