Instructors can request individual meetings with members of our team (virtual or in person) for:

• Feedback on course syllabi
• Guidance on designing effective, equitable assignments and assessments
• Recommendations on teaching approaches
• Support for research on teaching or educational development

School & Departmental Support

Schools, departments, and other academic units are welcome to request:

Course Observations

TIIP also performs formative observations of teaching. Institute staff can conduct general observations of teaching or use any of the following frameworks or tools based on the needs and interests of the instructor: 

• Critical Teaching Behaviors Framework
• Protocol for Advancing Inclusive Teaching Efforts (PAITE)
• Classroom Observation Protocol for Undergraduate STEM (COPUS)
• Equity Quantified in Participation (EQUIP)

Following recommended practices, observations involve:

• A pre-observation debriefing
• The observation
• A post-observation debriefing
