Celebrating 21 years at Penn Medicine by finally writing about the development of the postpartum hospitalist role I helped create 19 years ago! There were only about two dozen of us nurse practitioners in the inpatient role across the hospital in 2003. Now there are over 600 advanced practice providers in the Penn health system! Collaborated with fantastic WHNP postpartum hospitalist colleagues from Pennsylvania Hospital (Kara Reymann & Annelies Pfeiifer) on this article as we present our perspectives from Philadelphia.
