It is not a typical study for exam class and the exams are your whole grade. We learned social skills that are essential to the profession of nursing that a book can’t teach.

I love how personable and encouraging Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos was. She helped keep students engaged and interested and group project subjects were interesting.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos’s course enforced us to learn how to work and communicate in groups and then present professionally together. It is a great skill to learn and master for the health field.

She is such a great professor, I’m sad I won’t have her again in another class. She made class fun and I really looked forward to going to her class. She really helped me understand the material in a fun way!

She made me really think about why I’m doing nursing and how this is my non–negotiable. I loved this class!

I loved how interactive everything was and I never felt like I was being lectured at. She took the time to get to know all of us and helped us get to know our true selves better. I loved how much we learned through class activities without even realizing it.

Full collaboration came easily to the class as a whole, largely due to assignment structure.

How hands on the learning style was, the papers and fun ways to present our research to the class, and just how engaging it was. It never felt like a chore to come to seminar, I’ve always wanted to

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos promoted open discussion and conversation while in the classroom setting.

I think that some of the assignments should be individual. Working in groups for every assignment became difficult and frustrating.

Response: This was helpful feedback from one of my students. For the Spring 2024 semester, I have implemented new strategies to cultivate fair and equitable collaboration within groups. I now provide extra time for students to work in groups during class. During this time, we engage in facilitated discussion within the groups and as a class.

From the very first day, Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos made sure to let us know that she wants us all to do our best and hopefully one day, work beside her! At the start of class she would give us positive quotes and I really liked that. She has constantly been a cheerleader for us and I can tell that she truly wanted us to do well and be the best students and future nurses. Her kindness always shined through and even if she was ever disappointed, you knew it came from a place of genuine care. I feel truly blessed to have had Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos as my professor and I believe that her passion for maternity helped me become more interested in it!

The professors’ enthusiasm. I enjoy how positive professor Naglaton–Ramos is and how she tries her best to ground all the stressed out nursing students. It is nice to see someone that understands what we are going through. The empathy that she shows made a difference for me.

She has given me several tools to help me study and be successful in not only her class but other classes as well. I have gained many new tools that I can take with me into other classes next year!

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos really inspired me to pursue a career in women’s health. She was so encouraging and made class fun to attend. I also was very grateful for Instructor Noblejas who always answered questions very promptly and was also available to help.

She was very positive and reached out to me regarding exams to check on my well–being which I thought was amazing as many professors don’t take that extra step with their students! You can tell Instructor Jamie Nagtalon Ramos cares very deeply for her job and students and I would 100% recommend her class!

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos was an incredible professor! Coming into this course, I had limited interest in Women’s Health and anticipated it would be difficult to remain engaged in topics I didn’t believe would be very important to me in terms of where I see myself going in the nursing field. However, from day one I realized Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos was very passionate about not only Women’s Health, but also about her students and teaching in general, and that in turn made me want to engage in the material as well. I ended up enjoying this course and its content far more than I would have imagined at the beginning of the semester, and I credit most of that to Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos (and Instructor Noblejas!)

She is an amazing instructor. She has made learning the material fun and interesting, and her set up makes it very easy to understand even though its “harder” material. I am still not sure what nursing I will end up working in, but maternity is now high in my list.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is one of, if not, the best teachers I have ever had. She really wants her students to succeed and will help them to do well in her class any way that she can. I learned so much and will remember her (and her class) all throughout my nursing career. I am so lucky that I had the opportunity to learn from her this semester.

Dr. JNR has made me so excited to be a nurse and work in the hospital environment! You can 100% tell that she loves what she does and projects that on to us. She has a very welcoming atmosphere but she is also no fuss no muss which is great. You will great things from Dr. JNR that will carry you far in life – this is passed the great nursing education she has given us! Dr. JNR is a Dr. I will refer to for the rest of my life!

This Women’s course was one of the best courses I have taken so far. Super informative and comfortably to follow, learn and apply information. I was able to use my knowledge from this course right away in my clinical setting.

I thought the material was very engaging and it was great to learn from one another

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos was always available and eager to help with any issues, I really enjoyed learning from and working with her this semester.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos encouraged intellectual growth by always asking specific follow up questions regarding our clinical experiences.

It was helpful to hear the prospective of womens health NP in actual practice

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is by far the best professor at Rutgers…not just Rutgers Nursing, or Rutgers–Camden, the best in the entire university.

I love all the assignments and the presentation aspect of the class. It helps familiarize me with fellow classmates and the material.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is an excellent teacher and she presented content on many topics I was unfamiliar with and appreciated learning about. The assignments varied in scope and at times were challenging, but helped me grow as well.

Dr. Jamille was involved and engaged me as a student. I appreciated her concern when I was sick. She came and spoke with me and provided clear instructions on how to be successful in the program. She is a good professor well fitted for the class

Different styles of projects. They kept the assignments interesting and generated interest in topics I didn’t have interest in. It also allowed for creativity.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is always supportive of the entire class, encourages us to ask questions, engage her and each other and learn from every resource available to us.

Dear Professor Jamille,

You are amazing! I loved your class <3 she was amazing. She gave us cookies. She was INCREDIBLE. She was so easygoing, so sweet, so funny, and she was just a joy to be in the classroom with!

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos was incredibly insightful when teaching the business aspect of the nursing field. She progressed our knowledge in a myriad of ways including presentation, depth of nursing knowledge and teamwork. She was able to make class exciting and fun, all while teaching us more about the professional aspect of nursing. Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos has a personal teaching style that is rivaled by none, I truly enjoyed her class and learned a lot.

This class was a welcomed break from lecture–based classes. It fits well in the first semester and Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is clearly passionate about her roles as a Nurse Practioner, a researcher, an author, and an educator. She was well aware of the stresses felt from the class and met us where we were. She was receptive to student questions and requests. The assignments offered different ways to introduce some of the tougher topics about the profession – and thank you for making it 6! I’ve gained several critical friends as a result of this seminar group.

Dr. Nagtalon Ramos challenged me to look at the whole nurse and every aspect in my career. She helped me to not only think about the nursing process but how it relates to various types of patients I will encounter and how I can critque my own bias to help me be a more wholesome nurse.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and open up as a student and a person. We had sometimes tough but amazing conversations. She challenged me to open my understanding about the nursing profession. I was able to ask the questions I might be afraid to normally ask and I was not scared to speak in that class.

All in all, I think the course structure and organization were great. The topics made sense and are relevant to our future practice as nurses. I think the only think that bothered me throughout the course was students reading directly from their papers with little to no eye contact for presentations and that isn’t easy to change.

Response: In the Fall of 2023, I placed more effort in giving students directions on professional presentations. I encouraged students to use index cards instead of using their papers, phones, and iPads when presenting. I gave a verbal reminder prior to their presentations to look up, make eye contact with their audience, and to use their notes as a prompt. I also gave the students time during the semester to collaborate as a group during class time since most students are commuters and meeting outside of class is a barrier to collaboration.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is amazing. She is very organized which makes help us be on top of what we have to do as students. Also, her communication was great and I really appreciate that. She encourage us to be great nurses and talk to us with respect. Can’t say enough good things about her. Dr.Nagtalon–Ramos you are amazing!!

One of the BEST teachers I have ever had. She genuinely cares about her students and is a fair teacher. She uses our feedback as well and caters to our needs!

Dr Ramos is a great professor. She really encouraged us at every class meeting and wanted us to succeed. Class was always interesting and her power points were direct, organized and extremely helpful when it came time for an exam.

She has encouraged me to take advantage of my resources, and I like how she showed the class how fair her exams were. There were no loopholes, and the grade you got is based on how much effort you put into the class.

Dr.Nagtalon–Ramos is one of the best professors I had the pleasure of learning from in all my years being in this program. She is one of the few instructors I’ve seen who genuinely cares about the success of each and every one of her students.

She definitely encouraged my intellectual growth and progress with her endless knowledge. She wanted us to succeed and gave us the tools.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos was by far the best professor I have ever had. I was terrified prior to starting maternity, and now I have decided to pursue maternity as my specialty

She is one of my favorite professors here at Rutgers. I feel you can tell she wants us to succeed and pass the course as well as learn all the material. She provided a welcoming classroom and organized canvas page.

Professor Nagtalon–Ramos and Noblejas were excellent. It was very easy to see their passion for teaching and my learning. This was by far my favorite class to take, because of them and their teaching methods. Thank you so much for all your help this semester, you are a great asset to Rutgers Nursing program.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos was very knowledgeable and tremendously influenced my growth and learning in the course. She provided adequate resources and materials to succeed in this course.

This course was a recipient of the Open Access Textbook (OAT) Program. I utilized course materials from free/open/access resources available to students. Student response: I liked having no textbook and being more in–class based. Learning from other students and Dr. Nataglon–Ramos experience was really a great way to learn and worked better than a book for me.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos always gave really good feedback and her feedback made me more confident, especially in my writing. I never was a fan of writing because I thought that my writing was not up to a nursing student’s level or my level of literacy was not good enough. However, her feedback would always bring a smile to my face. Furthermore, in class, I’m glad that she would ask us further questions because it made me more open–minded and forced me to answer in a more rational way.

I really like how she started class with short quotes to get the day going. I think it helps change the mood and mindset of the class in a positive way.

I did like doing projects over exams, but having a partner for some of them was a challenge. Especially with a commuter school and Covid still going on meeting to complete them and figuring out how to divide the work was sometimes frustrating.

Response to this helpful feedback and planned change for next AY: I will consider providing an option to students to work on their own for some of the assignments. I feel very strongly about learning to work in a team and will continue to have group/partnered work.

The group work is what I liked best about this course. It put responsibility on each group member and made us all become accountable while checking in with each person never loosing engagement with our classmates. I can honestly say in my other classes, there are only a total of 2 people I speak to or know while in this class, I know pretty much everyone and although I may not talk to everyone, I know there name and what they look like because we all would speak and interact using our names. Professor Nagtalon–Ramos would make sure she would also address us by name instead of just pointing to us for an answer or question.

The assignments really put work towards understanding the class. There were no additional cost for this class and loved how interactive and open–discussion the format was.

Professor Nagtalon–Ramos really cared to pull students out of there shell. She gave a lot of assignments that were group work and she had interactive assignments within the class working with people we didn’t normally speak with. This was done because it is opening us up to our future of talking to people we do not know and it gets us comfortable with how to speak. Professor Nagtalon– Ramos is an extremely kind individual who really strives to blossom her flowers(students). I personally became better at standing in front of people and speaking/educating on topics I have researched. I also believe my writing has improved. I was unfamiliar with APA formatting and I have grown to learn so much about how to write a paper in APA format. I enjoyed Professor Nagtalon–Ramos positive energy and hope when it is time for mother baby I am able to select her as my professor again.

I wanted to thank Professor Nagtalon–Ramos for an amazing semester. She is so kind and really brings positive energy. I always look forward to her classes. Also, thank you for giving us so much information for this course to look back on since you opted out of having a book, which saved money and anyone who saves me money if a hero in my eyes. She gave us everything that would be in a textbook and more! I am grateful that I was able to have her as a professor and hope to have her again in the semesters to come.

The instructor for this course was excellent! I learned a lot in this course because of how well the professor taught and how well prepared they were. I learned something new each class and enjoyed each one.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is amazing! Was nervous coming into this class, but my worries quickly went away after the first class. Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is a great professor, and I’m looking forward to taking more classes with her in the future.

No, the work load was heavy but it was manageable and with no test, I expected this and actually appreciated it. Professor Nagtalon–Ramos taught this course amazingly and there is nothing I would have done differently.

I love how organized everything was and how clear the expectations were. I hated the idea of group work in the beginning of the semester but through the group work I have made 2 amazing friends. I am so thankful for this class

Class Interaction is great and she answer all questions regardless of how stupid the sound.

Working in groups was my favorite part of the course

Feeling more connected to peers

Dr Nagtalon–Ramos was an inspiration to me. She really understands what we are going through as second–degree students as she has been in our shoes. She makes sure that our mental health is okay, is positive, and reassuring and helps us focus on the end goal. I have never had a professor that was so kind and understanding and that was able to really put things into perspective.

I can’t express how much I enjoyed this course and Professor Nagtalon–Ramos. She is genuine and kind and very inspiring. She kept us engaged and encouraged us to get to know each other better and ourselves better as students and as future nurses. She continued to challenge us and view different ethical situations from various perspectives.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramon has done a great job involving the students in every class. It can easy to just present the information of the class and go through the motions, but Dr. Nagtalon–Ramon is constantly involving the students and encouraging them to share their experiences, which enriches the classroom experience.

She is very approachable and probably one of the nicest professors I’ve had so far. She made an effort to learn everyone’s name when none of my other professors did. She also showed great interest in the material which helped me stay engaged.

She is great. At first I was not a fan of the class because I do not like to talk much, but it was interesting. I appreciate that the professor did not assign an overwhelming amount of homework, allowing us enough time to actually do a good job and engage in the material. We did a lot of activities in class. She is great. I would take more classes with her.

Dr.Ramos really encourage us to think and use our brains. She made us all comfortable and to engage with eachother. He assignments were very meaningful and her teaching was very clear and easy to understand.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos was a pleasure to have as an instructor for this course. She brought many real–life experiences as examples in our weekly subject matter that helped reinforce the content. She was always respectful and prepared for class.

The course is really solid overall, if sometimes a little childish (like coloring with crayons)

Response to this helpful feedback and planned change for next AY: I try to use different modalities in teaching and learning including using markers and crayons to draw. I particularly bought crayons that reflected different skin tones to be more inclusive in the classroom. I will continue to use different creative ways to teach in the clasroom but perhaps provide other forms of creative media.

Never in my entire time at Rutgers have I had a professor as supportive as Dr. Nagtalon–Ramon. As an Filipino–Korean American, having a filipino professor felt so comforting. I loved how she talked about real world problems, and talked about the health of all races, not just white. Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is passionate about her work, and her stories and lectures have inspired me throughout the semester. She has sparked my interest in pursuing OB and Women’s health. Although I was not able to meet her in person, taking her course will be something I will not forget, and will carry with me throughout the rest of my college career, and future nursing career.

Thank you for such a great experience in your class, and checking up on your students. For the longest time, it felt as if professors did not really care about their students, but I felt your support throughout the entirety of your class. It really had a big impact on my mental health this year, and I thank you for being such an amazing professor. I hope I have the chance to meet your in person one day!

Dr. Jamille Ramos has been one of the most encouraging and motivating professors I have had while in the nursing program at Rutgers Camden. I learned much from her because of the passion she has for women’s health, and it has inspired me to want to enter the women’s health field of nursing. She is an amazing instructor, and probably the most qualified person to teach this course.

I am grateful to have taken this course with Professor Nagtalon–Ramos, it has been a great learning experience. I truly felt that both lecture and recitation helped me progress through the course. I had a bit of a struggle during the semester getting certain grades that I knew I could have improved on. Using all the resources made available to me helped me grow as an overall student and I would not have passed if this was not the case.

She is one of the best teachers I have had at Rutgers! Her lectures are so interesting and she is honestly just the best. She is so intelligent and passionate about maternity. I value the effort she puts into every class. Her tests are straight to the point, fair, and if you know the information, you should get a good grade. Overall, she is just amazing!

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is passionate about women’s health and presents her information in such an organized way. Even though I know for a fact that I don’t want to be a women’s health NP, I know that if I ever did go that way, Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos would be my inspiration. She is amazing, she’s passionate, she’s motivated, and she’s present in all aspects of her life.

Each class I have taken with professor was always informative and very engaging. I felt her classes allowed me to think outside the box, i feel i have grown a better understanding with how to apply information I have learned

Such a patient and understanding professor. She doesnt try to make the course harder for us and it really helps us learn better. Other professors make the exam harder and try to trick us. That doesnt help us learn and only discourages us. Professor Nagtalon–Ramos really made it a point to check in with us and I looked forward to her class every week.

Professor Nagtalon–Ramos is one of a kind and I was very fortunate to have had her as a professor. She is very different from other professors as she doesn’t only teach us material we need to know but actually makes an effort to connect with us. She makes everyone feel welcome, and even reaches out / speaks up when there are injustices going on in the out–of–school world. She would also debrief with us before starting the lecture and ask us stuff like “what is our strength word?” or “what is something we accomplished today?”. Believe it or not, Professor Nagtalon–Ramos asking us that and having us reflect back does not only help to make “conversation” but it also helps us students, who are under a lot of stress, with our mental health and I believe that having a teacher who cares for us on that level is something that makes us students want to learn more and strive to do better in class. she has not only taught me a tremendous amount of information in the field of obstetrics and gynecology but she has also taught me that teachers, especially teachers like her, do care about us, students. she has shown us what it’s like to have a teacher who cares. It was a pleasure to have had her and she is the bomb.com!

Professor Nagtalon–Ramos encouraged me to embrace my womanhood and raised awareness about the importance of mental health. She made me feel like she generally cared about us as students and I looked forward to going to her class. Even though I didn’t have clinical, she got me to seriously consider maternity as a future specialty.

She was always encouraging, inspiring, and wanted you to do your best. She really is a special kind of teacher. She is definitely passionate about what she teaches and was born to be a teacher. It makes me sad knowing I only have her for maternity. She is truly one of a kind.

Professor Naglaton–Ramos was very encouraging and motivated me to do better in my nursing career. Every week she gave
quotes and inspiring quotes or references to guide us on our journey. She took time to listen to us, and explained concepts very well so we can understand. I would definitely take her again if I could, she is an amazing professor.

I appreciate that Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos took the time out to have discussions with her students about our mental health or about growth mindset, this really helped to bring the students together. She is always positive and willing to help her students with whatever they may need. She encourages her students to do better and be better. I believe that Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos is one hardworking lady. She goes above and beyond for her students and she deserves to be recognized for the work that she does.

Her passion for teaching as well as openness to stop and answer questions. she also starts class with powerful quotes and sometimes we do activities to destress a little before class as well. she asks us how we feel and is just very understanding. her energy about this material is just amazing because to see someone who’s teaching the subject genuinely love it is motivating. this in turn caused me to connect more and learn so much from her.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos was always so enthusiastic and encouraging during class. On some days, she even took the time to ask us all individually how we were doing, and she would offer advise if we were struggling.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos really cares about the success of her students. She lectured very well and the materials were very understandable. I really enjoyed being in her class.

She’s genuinely one of, if not the greatest instructors I’ve ever had. She made me realize that I am not here by accident and that I have a purpose, which allowed me to be even more dedicated and find ways to improve myself as a student and a person as a whole. She truly cares which encouraged her students more than she will ever know. Thank you for everything Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos!

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos’ course content really helped me see a different side of life and nursing. I received a lot of the health/medical information from my other courses but this course was a good reminder that the nurse is also a teacher and caregiver who should be able to show empathy and ensure the safety of their patients.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos made everyone in the class feel welcomed and like we belonged. She encouraged us to participate in class because each of us had something different to bring to the table. Each assignment asked us to study different aspects of the nursing profession that I really enjoyed. I feel as though I have learned how to be a better professional.

She is great! Overall this class was very inspiring. Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos’ really made this class informative, fun, and allowed us to all explore various topics relevant to being a nurse. She was very responsive to questions and gave great feedback on projects and papers. She has a lot of insight to add to class from her professional career.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos always encouraged students to be active participants in her course. The course was tailored such that students who actively engaged in class discussion gained the most from the course.

I started watching Ted Talks and even bought a book outside of the requirements of this course because Professor Nagtalon– Ramos made learning the information so fun.

She made this course much more interactive and engaging than I thought would be possible given that it was online due to the given circumstances. Overall, a great professor who genuinely cares about her students.

Dr. Ramos is one of the best professors I’ve ever had!! her enthusiasm towards each class and her encouragement have most definitely helped my intellectual growth and progress!

You could tell from the very beginning of class that Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos had a passion for teaching, research, the profession of nursing overall and she was enthusiastic about our success, interest, and development in the program. I found her very inspirational and she made me want to be put forth my best effort in her class, as well as the rest of my courses in the program. In my opinion, she truly added to the ABS program experience and she is a valuable professor representing the Rutgers nursing program.

She is very helpful and understanding that her students have different viewpoints than her. We could speak openly knowing she would not penalize us and our grade, like other teachers.

I like that this course focused on having a conversation rather than studying only information. It integrated projects which helped me learn the information better.

Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos helped me to be comfortable with the students in my cohort and learn to work with others. She helped me understand the importance of gaining background knowledge in nursing and challenged me to think outside of my comfort zone

Honestly, this was my favorite class this semester. I’ve gone through alot this year, as 2020 was for alot of us, however you had the best most positive attitude. Sometimes you were the only person to ask me how my weeks been. I didn’t have to force myself to listen in your class, I wanted to.

Dr. Ramos is definitely one of the most organized professors I have ever had! Instructions for every assignment were very clear, which I really appreciated. I love how she took the time during class to get to know every one of her students; you can tell she really wants all of her students to succeed!

Professor Nagtalon–Ramos is a very encouraging instructor as it is clear that she wants her nursing students to succeed and welcomes any questions related to the nursing profession. Considering she is closer to her student’s age compared to other professors I feel that she really understands what we as students are going through and has been very accommodating to her students during the Fall 2020 semester.

Promoted self–care, took time to engage and get to know students, responded to emails in an appropriate timely manner, showed up to class with excellent energy

This class showed the reality of what nursing looks like. I think she really prepared me for upcoming clinicals by talking about serious issues in the nursing profession.

She encouraged my intellectual growth and progress by making sure to remind us about self–care. Many professors don’t ask us about our day or what we did for self–care so I really appreciate her for it <3

She has been the most encouraging, compassionate, and caring professor I have ever had. I wanted to do well to reflect her excellent teaching.

She was definitely one of the best professors I have had throughout all of college so far. She taught us so much, helped us when we needed help and was always there.

Encouraged communication and socialization during a time where it is hard to do that. Gave out good advice for dealing with personal stresses and taking time for oneself. Taught life lessons on top of coursework, as well as the growth of effective communication skills.

I personally thought the incorporation of the daily check in prompts was the best part of the class. At first, I was not a fan because it meant I had to talk, but it helped me engage with the class more. It also helped me hear and learn from my classmates in a way I hadn’t before so that was really great

I LOVED this class so much that I didn’t want it to end. She has been the greatest professor I have ever had. She cares for her students (which is not common among other professors) and wants to see us succeed. My eyes have been opened for the nursing profession. I cannot thank her enough for everything.

Honestly I cannot think of enough positive things to say about this course and its instructor. Dr Nagtalon–Ramos was amazing! I wish all my teaches were like her. She was organized on the 1st week of classes and she went above and beyond in giving us the tools to succeed in this course. With the difficulties with COVID, she transitioned almost seamlessly into remote learning and made her lectures viewable online in their entirety. I was unsure of my nursing specialty prior to this course, but now I have fallen in with maternity/newborn and plan to pursue this area in my own career. Again, Dr Ramos was amazing! She was there for me personally and the rest of the class in making sure we did not get distressed or discouraged and were able to successfully complete this course.
Dr. Ramos was truly the greatest instructor I have ever had in my life. I have never had a more supportive teacher that truly cares about the success and mental health of every student. She showed effort in learning everyone’s name and making a personal connection with everyone. She made the transition to online extremely easy. She made me find an interest in one day instructing students myself. I cannot say enough good things about her.
The content and the instructor really wowed me in this course. I originally viewed this course as something to just get through on the path towards my degree. I had not yet narrowed down a specialty that interested me and now I am happy to say I have found it!
I think with COVID and the crazy circumstances that happened, I would not have changed anything. I think Professor Ramos did everything to ease this transition on us and still communicate as much as possible.
She cares about her students so much and her little gestures makes you feel more than a student in a 60+ student lecture. She was always made herself available to her students and their questions. Her love for the material that is teacher really made me interested in the class and able to succeed
Instructor Jamille Nagtalon– Ramos was the best thing this course and program could have. She not only out did herself as a instructor but truly shows she cares as a human being. Everything I loved about this course has to do with her being an excellent instructor I will recommend her to anyone so professional and so kind. We need more professors like her!! I learned a great deal how to care as a nurse and I learned a lot as a student.
Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos created a comfortable environment that allowed me to express my concerns and opinions and gave me the opportunity to think critically about all subject matter. She really encouraged all of us to be the best we could be.

I liked how she wouldn’t share her slides with us until we got to class because that really made me read the book and understand the material fully and made me learn a lot more and retain the Information.

Select comments from students The projects are really fun. I really wish more classes realized how great projects could be. I think they cause you to learn way more about a topic. I also really like the Professor. I was not good at research prior to this class. But now i can find great journals in a few minutes, I have a good understanding of different types of studies, and I think it has help me with my mindset as a nurse as well.
Even though things are really difficult right now Professor Ramos has done everything she could to make sure we can succeed. I think her projects are what have really helped me understand the course material. That’s one of the main reasons why I like the class so much. I think projects are one of the best ways to help students learn in a fun and interesting way.
Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos has always shown true interest in what her students have to say. She offers valuable feedback, even for things that aren’t school–related. She works with us, encourages us, and motivates us. Even though I personally am not super crazy interested in research, she makes this class enjoyable!
Professor Nagtalon–Ramos has encouraged intellectual growth and progress by always showing respect and support for what we have to say. Whenever we have input about research findings, whether for research in the news or our presentations, her comments are always supportive and they always expand on what we have to say, which promotes teaching. I also like how she doesn’t focus too much about us knowing the information, but rather about understanding it. Because the concepts in research build on each other, I think that method of learning definitely helps me to learn more information from the class.
Professor Ramos has been one of my favorite at Rutgers so far. Throughout remote instruction she has been more than motivational. I often find her being the professor I look forward to hearing from most each week. Before the move to remote instruction she kept class fun and interesting while ensuring we learned all of the materials necessary. She is an amazing teacher and has made this difficult time as a student much more approachable.
Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos always finds unconventional and fun ways to help her students learn the material and be successful in the courses that she teaches. Her positivity and encouragement is the reason for my personal growth and progress. I really do appreciate and value her as a professor, as a person, and as a future colleague. And I pray she is here to stay at Rutgers for a long time.
If the course is still online in the Fall, I would move away from group projects and assign individual projects as the group projects were extreme stressors during an already stressful time. It’s very difficult to work together and to hold people accountable when you don’t see them face–to–face. Additionally, I feel like individual projects make more sense for a research course, but that aspect is personal opinion.

Professor Nagtalon–Ramos has for sure encouraged my intellectual growth. She was always there for me if I had any questions and during lecture she would even thank us, the students for showing up on time and being there for each other, which really motivated me to come to class prepared as I knew that she actually appreciated it unlike other professors.
You were an excellent teacher and made writing so much easier for me. I was never a good writer and I can see how I’ve grown from the beginning of the semester to now. I cannot thank you enough for this course as it taught me so much broadening my knowledge in nursing.
Professor Nagtalon–Ramos has been the only professor I have ever had that has thoroughly gone through every essay I ever wrote for her class. She always gave the best feedback and I feel like I have grown as a writer since the start of her class. She knows exactly how to make everybody interested in the class, and make learning the information fun. Her approach to everything she did was ALWAYS positive and encouraging. Through hearing about her own experiences with nursing and how successful she is now, it has become one thing that inspires me to become the best nurse I can possibly be. Professor Nagtalon– Ramos has been one of my favorite professors I have ever had at Rutgers.
Dr. Nagtalon Ramos is an outstanding professor, nurse practitioner and role model. Dr. Ramos has not only helped me develop a thoughtful nursing philosophy; but she has also encouraged me to one day be as great as her in the medical field.

Dr. Ramos is THE BEST PROFESSOR I have ever had in my entire educational career. She truly cares about her students. She encourages us to participate in class and openly share our thoughts on certain things in healthcare without fear of any judgments. She is a super fair grader and always comes to class with a positive attitude. Sometimes, when we are stressed about our upcoming exams, Dr. Ramos would give us very encouraging words and advice. She definitely helps us relieve our anxieties about nursing school. Her lectures are very interesting. I love how she incorporates group presentations into the class. This allowed me to get to know my peers better and make lifelong friendships. Dr. Ramos has a great personality and is extremely inspiring. I really want to be as humble, positive, and professional as she!
This course really allowed me to interest myself in the theory part of nursing. I appreciate learning about the different theorists and theories, and ethical codes of nursing. Honestly, I never really thought about that aspect. Whenever I thought nursing, I only thought of hospitals and hands–on patient care.
Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos encouraged my intellectual growth and progress in this course by always coming to class eager to teach. Though the content of the course was less than exciting, the way that she taught it was extremely engaging
She was an awesome professor that made the material interesting. Given the material and time slot, the class could have been brutal but professor Nagtalon–Ramos made the class very fun. I hope i have class with her again!
The professor was very understanding of her students, accessible, knowledgeable, and encouraged student participation. The in–class group assignments were also interesting and engaging.

Select comments from students This was truly a wonderful clinical experience. Instructor Nagtalon–Ramos would arrive to the clinical site early to make sure we were all matched with patients and nurses on the unit. She was extremely organized and well prepared and has a wealth of knowledge to share about women’s health. I looked forward to this clinical each week, and feel that I learned so much this semester.
Amazing clinical experience. Dr. Nagtalon–Ramos went above and beyond for my classmates and I. I am very grateful to have had this experience
