Aaron Baublis

Aaron Baublis received his B.S. in Chemistry from Brandeis University, in 2021. Afterwards he worked as a laboratory technician in the Farese and Walther lab, focusing on proteomics and lipidomics. Aaron started his Ph.D. journey at Rutgers in 2023 and joined the JKLee group. His interests are in mass spectrometry and organic mechanistic studies. Aaron’s interests outside of the lab include cooking, spending time with his cat (Cottonball), drawing, and enjoying live music.

Xiao Ding

Xiao Ding received her B.A. in Chemistry from Lanzhou University in 2019 and her M.S. from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2021. After graduation, she began her Ph.D. studies at Rutgers and joined the Jeehiun Lee group. She is interested in Mass Spectrometry and uses MS to study organic and bio-organic reactions. Outside the lab, she enjoys spending time with her bunny and two cats. She also likes cooking and baking.

Dr. Kiruba George

Dr. Kiruba George earned her PhD in 2003 from the National University of Singapore, under the supervision of Prof. Richard Wong. After her PhD, she worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Chemistry, National University of Singapore for 3 years. In 2014, she became a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Rutgers University, and has since then been working with Professor Jeehiun Lee. Her research interests include the study of excision mechanisms of damaged nucleobases by various enzymes. She extensively uses kinetic isotope effects to study enzyme reaction mechanisms. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family.

Damon Hinz

Damon Hinz earned his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 2018 after doing research on asymmetric catalysis in the Hossain lab. Upon graduating, he began his Ph.D. studies at Rutgers University in the Jeehiun Lee group, focusing on the studies of organic mechanisms and reactive intermediates. In his free time, Damon enjoys rock climbing, traveling, and finding new coffee shops with croissants to try.

Joyce Lin

Joyce Lin earned her B.A. in Chemistry from Rutgers University in 2019. After working as an analytical chemist for 3 years, she began her Ph.D. studies at Rutgers and joined the Jeehiun Lee group in 2022. Her research interests revolve around organic reactivity and nucleophilicity/electrophilicity. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with cats and alpacas, watching stand-up comedy, cooking, and snowboarding.

Will Thompson

Will received his B.A. in Chemistry from Rutgers University in 2024. During his time in undergrad, he spent two summers working at Labcorp in Research Triangle Park, NC and Raritan, NJ, where he found his passion for analytical chemistry. After graduating, Will began his Ph.D. journey in 2024. Will initially joined the JKLee lab as an undergraduate in 2023, and officially joined the group as a Ph.D. student in 2024. Within analytical chemistry, Will’s interests lay in method development and solvation effects. During his free time, Will enjoys lifting weights, playing video games and playing disc golf.
