In the Spring of 2010, I surveyed professional campaign consultants about campaign strategy, tactics, perceptions of gender stereotypes among voters, and the consulting profession. The survey remained in the field from March 29 – May 29, 2010, within which consultants were contacted multiple times and via multiple modes of outreach. Two hundred and twenty-three active campaign consultants responded to the survey, yielding a response rate of 24.8%, a rate consistent with recent surveys of political elites. Seventeen survey respondents participated in post-survey interviews between July 21, 2010 and September 17, 2010.

Full results of this survey are available in my book, Navigating Gendered Terrain: Stereotypes and Strategy in Political Campaigns (Temple University Press, 2015). Links to the survey instrument and a report of survey findings are below.
