About Fatima Buevich, PhD
I am a chemist holding a Ph.D. from Moscow State University in Russia with 20+ years of industrial experience in Biomaterials, Medical Devices and Controlled Drug release. I worked as R&D scientist, product development engineer, and design control specialist. I played an essential part in development, FDA approval and successful commercialization of TYRX antibacterial envelope and TYRX absorbable antibacterial envelope as part of the startup company Advanced Materials Design (renamed to TYRX Inc) and from 2013 Medtronic plc. During my time in Medtronic was awarded Technical Fellow of Medtronic Class of Spring 2017. I hold 15 US and 14 international patents, published 8 peer-reviewed papers and have more than 30 conference presentations. Currently in the Laboratory for Biomaterials Research at Rutgers University I am supervising group of chemistry postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, and I also manage industrial collaboration projects.
