About Sanjeeva Murthy, PhD
Dr. Murthy is Materials Scientist with ongoing interest in polymers and biomaterials. He has a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Connecticut. He did his postdoctoral work at CMU on biological cell membranes and at MIT and on artificial skin. He then worked for 21 years at the Corporate Research Laboratories of Honeywell, and was an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Vermont for 4.5 years. He has been a Research Associate Professor at the Laboratory for Biomaterials Research, Rutgers University, since 2007. His currently working on fabrication of tissue scaffolds for use as biomedical implants. He also works on the modification of surfaces to control cell-substrate interactions, and studies degradation, mechanical behavior, biological activity and drug delivery. He has nearly 240 publications and book chapters, ~ 180 in refereed journals. Dr. Murthy is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and International Center for Diffraction Data. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and Society for Biomaterials.
