The Kurdish Studies Graduate Student Association (KSGSA) is dedicated to sharing and celebrating Kurdish cultural, social, and scholarly life within the Rutgers community. Despite being one of the largest nations in the Middle East, Kurds have often been overlooked in academic and cultural discussions. KSGSA seeks to change that by fostering awareness, inclusivity, and cross-cultural understanding through events and initiatives open to all. Newroz Reception at Rutgers University in New Jersey organizaed by the Kurdish Studies Graduate Student Association.

“When Kurds light the Newroz fire, they do more than welcome spring; they affirm a future in which freedom is measured not by the willingness to die, but by the ability to live with dignity. Newroz carries a simple yet profound truth: winter ends, hope returns, and political awakening begins with imagination,” Dr. Kamal Soleimani.
