Kristen Syrett and Jessica Rett on American Refugee podcast #15

Prof Kristen Syrett and Rutgers alum, Prof Jessica Rett (UCLA) were recently invited to the American Refugee podcast on invasive species. Both of them give their informed perspectives on how language communicates meaning and what its impact is on speakers and listeners.
This very timely and interesting podcast focuses on the `invasive’ species which endanger the habitat, water and food systems Americans depend on to survive. The podcast weaves in an interesting angle by bringing into focus how naming these `foreign’ species conditions a national immigration attitude.
