In early November, Professor\u00a0Kristen Syrett<\/strong> presented at the 50th Boston University Conference on Language Development (BUCLD)<\/a> in two sessions.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the first session, she was a co-author (with Dr. Misha Becker<\/a>) of a poster titled <\/span>\u201cThe linguistic distribution of adjectives calls attention to variable object properties: The case of acquiring adjectives of emotion vs. color, shape, and size.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

In the second session, she joined Dr. Anna Papafragou<\/a> and Dr. Barbara Landau<\/a> for a symposium on <\/span>\u201cSemantics, cognition and development: Retrospective, prospective,\u201d<\/span><\/i> where her talk explored how \u201ceasy\u201d words reveal the complex interplay of concepts, semantics, and pragmatics, with a focus on how count nouns are learned through partial objects.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
