It boasted a biodiverse assemblage of grasses and flowering annuals and perennials that decrease stormwater runoff and provide food and shelter for wildlife. In 2016, a Rutgers Newsroom article &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/sebsnjaesnews.rutgers.edu\/2016\/07\/a-wildflower-meadow-blooms-at-ifnh-and-cook-campus-gains-a-new-outdoor-classroom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A Wildflower Meadow Blooms at IFNH and Cook Campus Gains a New Outdoor Classroom<\/a>&#8221; highlighted the early summer flowering herbs as well as the vision for the meadow as a living laboratory to provide experiential learning opportunities for students.
