{"id":610,"date":"2026-07-06T18:48:41","date_gmt":"2026-07-06T18:48:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/martinez-zamudio-lab\/?p=610"},"modified":"2026-07-06T18:48:41","modified_gmt":"2026-07-06T18:48:41","slug":"postdoctoral-research-position-epigenomics-of-senescence-transitions-during-cancer-development-and-progression","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.rutgers.edu\/martinez-zamudio-lab\/postdoctoral-research-position-epigenomics-of-senescence-transitions-during-cancer-development-and-progression\/","title":{"rendered":"Postdoctoral Research Position: Epigenomics of Senescence Transitions during Cancer Development and Progression"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-path-to-node=\"2,1\">The laboratory is seeking a recent PhD graduate or early-stage postdoctoral researcher interested in working on cutting-edge projects focused on the gene regulatory networks driving senescence-associated transitions during the early stages of cancer and the development of therapeutic resistance.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2,2\">Current projects along this research line include:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"2,3\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2,3,0,0\">Investigating transitions through oncogene-induced senescence (OIS) and therapy-induced senescence (TIS) using primary human mammary epithelial cells and breast cancer cell culture models.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2,3,1,0\">Developing a colonic organoid model to study escape from OIS in a 3D model system.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2,4\">Key findings from these projects will also be validated using relevant mouse models.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2,5\"><b data-path-to-node=\"2,5\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Qualifications &amp; Profile:<\/b> The ideal candidate has a strong background in epigenomics and molecular biology, with hands-on experience in the computational analysis of high-throughput sequencing data (e.g., RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, CUT&amp;Tag).
