SUMMARY:MAT Lunch Hour: Buprenorphine Dispensing in Pharmacies
DESCRIPTION:Co-hosted with the Camden Coalition\, the MAT Lunch Hours are hour-long virtual meetings to hear from experts and discuss the latest in clinical and non-clinical issues affecting the MAT patient population. Providers\, OBAT navigators\, peers\, advocates\, and other stakeholders working in New Jersey’s substance use disorder field are welcome to attend. \nin this session\, we will discuss how access to buprenorphine in key in reducing morbidity and mortality of OUD\, but if patients are not dispensed buprenorphine at pharmacies\, these benefits cannot be gained. Our pharmacists and 2 pharmacists in the community\, one independent and one chain\, will present their perspectives of the barriers to buprenorphine in the community pharmacy setting. With a better understanding of these unique issues\, we can collaboratively find solutions to increase access to MOUD overall.
