SUMMARY:OBAT Navigator Training
DESCRIPTION:Office-based addiction treatment (OBAT) navigators play a critical role in the expansion of medications for addiction treatment (MAT) services in New Jersey. Under the New Jersey MATrx model\, OBAT navigators are integral team members in OBAT practices who are tasked with initiating and maintaining a psychosocial treatment plan (care plan) that supports patients through all phases of their treatment. \nHosted by the Camden Coalition\, this training series of six webinars focuses on foundational knowledge and actionable information for OBAT navigators such as: \n\nIntroduction to substance use disorders\, harm reduction\, trauma-informed care\, and the OBAT model\nApproaches for building relationships and putting harm reduction\, trauma-informed care\, and care-planning into practice in a clinic-based setting\nBest practices in connecting patients to behavioral health and social service resources including specific community resource identification and referral tools\n\nThe training series is free for OBAT navigators and providers/clinical support staff. If you are not an OBAT navigator or a provider but are interested in participating in the training\, please contact us. Please also note that participants are required to attend all 6 sessions in order to receive a Certificate of Completion. Our pharmacists and 2 pharmacists in the community\, one independent and one chain\, will present their perspectives of the barriers to buprenorphine in the community pharmacy setting. With a better understanding of these unique issues\, we can collaboratively find solutions to increase access to MOUD overall.

DESCRIPTION:If you were not able to join the NJ MAT Centers of Excellence for a free two-hour CME training last month focused on the how and why of buprenorphine prescribing and practice implementation\, here is your next opportunity.\n\nGiven the recent release of HHS’ new practice guidelines regarding buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder\, the course content now reviews all information needed to prescribe in the ED and provide clinical justification for the use of MOUD that can be applied in all settings. Faculty will also walk attendees through the SAMHSA waiver application and submission process to treat up to 30 patients.

DESCRIPTION:OBAT Navigator Training\nOffice-based addiction treatment (OBAT) navigators play a critical role in the expansion of medications for addiction treatment (MAT) services in New Jersey. Under the New Jersey MATrx model\, OBAT navigators are integral team members in OBAT practices who are tasked with initiating and maintaining a psychosocial treatment plan (care plan) that supports patients through all phases of their treatment. \nThis training series of four webinars focuses on actionable information for OBAT navigators on how to support patients’ goals and priorities as well as best practices in connecting patients to behavioral health and social service resources. \nSession 1: Introduction to substance use disorders\, harm reduction\, trauma-informed care\, and the OBAT model \nSessions 2 and 3: Approaches for building relationships and putting harm reduction\, trauma-informed care\, and care-planning into practice in a clinic-based setting \nSession 4: Community resources and referral tools to address identified needs and ongoing learning \nThe training series is free for OBAT navigators and providers. If you are not an OBAT navigator or a provider but are interested in participating in the training\, please contact Mouy Pan at Camden Coalition at mpan@camdenhealth.org. Please also note that participants are required to attend all 4 sessions in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.
